Summer Travel Update

We had the wonderful privilege to be out West for much of the summer. We presented our burden for Peru in 11 new churches (MN, CO, WY, and SD), shared updates in 3 churches we had previously visited, and challenged young people at 2 weeks of camp about serving God. We drove many, many miles and had several 400-mile days. We enjoyed meeting many new people and reconnecting with friends along the way. God granted us safety, sanity, and good meetings during our time on the road. For that, and much more, we are very thankful.

A Rather Noisy Day

One of the highlights of our summer travels was passing out tracts at the Annual Ham'n'Jam in Hulett, WY. This rally takes place as a part of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. We helped our supporting church in Hulett and the local CMA chapter pass out thousands of tracts, cups of water, and grease towels to the tens of thousands who descend upon Hulett for the day.

We saw more bikes than we had ever seen before (there were probably 40,000+ there that day). Joe and Jack really enjoyed looking at all the different kinds of bikes. Isabel gladly looked the part of a biker girl (here she is modeling her look with the pastor's daughters). We are praying that God will use our witnessing efforts to bring forth some fruit.

The Calm Before the Storm

We are now at home for a few days before we begin our Fall travels. The next 2 months hold meetings in PA, WI, MN, Canada, and IL. We will attend LAUNCH Seminar at Baptist Mid-Missions home office in Cleveland during September. This is the next step in our journey to Peru. We are hoping to finish deputation and leave for language school in May. Life is about to get much busier.

Prayer Requests

  • Pray for more meetings for the Fall and early 2013.
  • Pray for the churches and individuals that God is leading to partner with us.
  • Pray for us as we homeschool.
  • Pray for us to be a blessing and encouragement to the people we meet as we travel.
  • Pray for Peru: lost souls; discipleship; unity between nationals and North Americans; strength for ministry; political stability; more laborers.

Support Update

We are very thankful for the 2 churches and 2 individuals that God allowed to join our team during the past 2 months. We are now at 70%! We still have some ground to cover in the coming months, but we are very encouraged with the progress God has brought our way.
